Registration

The deadline for author registration was 30 July 2008.
We will not accept any new author registration for their papers to be included in the program and proceedings.
New registrations from now onwards are meant for participants with no papers to present or co-authors whose papers are already registered before the deadline.

Disclaimer: By registering for SMC2008, the participant agrees that she/he shall not hold the organizer liable should the holding of the conference be hindered, affected or prevented in any way by any unexpected events or should the non-appearance of speakers or other reasons necessitate program changes. With registration, the participant accepts this proviso.

Please note:

1. All conference attendees must register. A confirmation of your payment will be sent to you after your payment is processed and we have confirmed receipt of your payment.
2. A registration email letter will be sent to your email address two weeks before the conference. Please print and present this registration email at the Registration Desk to pick up your conference kit. Students will need to provide a copy of their current and valid IEEE student membership card and Life members will need to provide proof of such status to qualify for the reduced rate.
3. For a paper to be published in the conference proceedings and be scheduled for presentation at the conference, at least one author must register and pay the appropriate fees by 30 July 2008. (The length of the paper must be not less than 5 pages and not more than 6 pages.)
4. All student registration must submit a copy of your student pass by fax to (65) 6356 7471 or email to: smc2008@inmeet.com.sg Please indicate your name and (SMC 2008) on the document.
5. Each full or student registration fee entitles one paper publication in the conference proceedings and presentation at the conference.
6. Additional paper fee: Except for the paper accompanying the registration, each additional paper, up to a maximum of two, by the same author will cost an additional fee of SGD 300/per paper. Every fourth paper submitted by the same author will require the payment of an additional full registration fee. In other words, if a single author submits 5 papers, the first and fourth paper will require the payment of the full registration fee while the second, third and fifth papers will require payment of the additional paper fee. Please indicate clearly during your registration for the conference the paper tracking number(s) that you wish to be associated to your registration.
7. Delegate Member Rate: Members of IEEE are entitled to the "Member" rate. Members who register under this category need to provide a valid IEEE membership number.
8. Reduced Rate: Reduced registration fees are available only to IEEE Student members and IEEE Life members. Students who are not IEEE members wishing to register as a student must first become an IEEE student member. Proof of such IEEE membership must be provided to qualify for the reduced registration fee.
   
   For non IEEE student members, you may apply to be an IEEE student member at the half year rate. Details at the following website: http://www.ieee.org/web/membership/Cost/dues.html.
   
   IEEE membership number will be provided immediately after the students register online in IEEE website.
   
   If you are not able to obtain the IEEE registration number at the time of registration, please e-mail a PDF file of your IEEE application form to pacreg@nus.edu.sg. Please also let pacreg@nus.edu.sg know as your IEEE member as soon as you receive it. If you are unable to produce your IEEE membership before the conference, the organizer reserves the right to bar you from attending the conference and having your paper not published at the conference proceedings.
9. Additional page charge: Papers will only be accepted if formatted according to IEEE SMC 2008 specification. Each full or student registration includes publication of one paper (up to 6 pages in length) in the conference proceedings. A maximum of 2 additional pages are allowed per registration subject to payment of the Additional Paper Fee. An additional page charge of SGD 100 per page applies for over-length papers (of 7 or 8 pages); papers exceeding 8 pages will be refused.
10. Extra banquet tickets can be purchased at SGD 100 per ticket.

Payment Procedure

Payment modes available are: Credit Card or Cheque/Bankdraft

For online payment by credit card (Visa or Mastercard):

1. Complete the online registration and select the payment mode as “Visa” or “MasterCard”.
2. You will be re-directed to a secured payment portal by WorldPay to perform your online payment.
3. Once your transaction is processed, you will receive a confirmation email from WorldPay, followed by the registration confirmation email from the conference manager within the next working day.
4. Please note that if you used another person’s credit card to make the payment, you will be requested to submit the credit card authorization form after payment. This form will be sent to you by email AFTER online payment is completed.
5. The merchant name reflected on your credit card bill will be “Integrated Meetings Specialist (Holdings) Pte Ltd”.

For cheques / bankdraft payment:

1. Complete the online registration and select the payment mode as “Cheque” or “Bankdraft”.
2. Please issue the cheque/bankdraft to “Integrated Meetings Specialist (Holdings) Pte Ltd”.
3. Please note that only bankdrafts issued by banks with a Singapore branch office or partner bank in Singapore are accepted.
4. Print a copy of the invoice from the online registration system, and mail it, together with the cheqye/bankdraft to the address as indicated on the invoice.
5. Please remember to indicate your login ID, name, telephone or email and “SMC2008” at the back of the cheque/bank draft.
6. Upon receipt of your cheque/bankdraft, you will receive a notification by email
7. When your cheque/bankdraft is cleared by the bank, you will receive the registration confirmation by email.

Note: We regret that telegraphic or bank transfer are not acceptable payment modes.

Cancellation and Refunds

Registration fees are not refundable.
