Student Grants

The IEEE SMC 2008 Conference award a number of ‘student grants’ to the students who are in most need and lack financial resources to attend the conference. Successful student grant recipients would receive a USD500 as support upon registering and presenting the paper at the conference.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be first author of an accepted paper in the conference.
  • Applicant must register and present their papers at the conference.
  • Applicant must be a PhD or Master’s student.

Students who would like to apply for the support should send their application package by July 1, 2008. Notification of acceptance will be made on July 9, 2008. The application package should include the following:

  • Student Grant Application Form: (See bottom of this page)
  • An official letter from supervisor or department chair stating that you need additional funds to attend the SMC Conference.
  • Please include your accepted Paper Title and Paper Number in the Student Grant Application Form.

Please use as subject “SMC 2008 Student Grant Application”. Note: any scanned documents should be preferably in PDF format.
